Cavas y Almas del AMANCAY Grape: Malbec, from low–yielding 50-70 year-old vines. Origin: This malbec comes from the Tupungato Valley, 125 miles south of Mendoza , recognized heart of Argentina’s wine country. Set in the foothills of the Andes at 3936 feet, the Tupungato Valley’s rich soil, average eight hours of sun, and daily average temperature of 14.4 C (57.9F) create optimal condition for viticulture. Barrel Maturation : American oak barrels from August until May. Total Production: 1,600 cases. Tasting Notes: peppery, with a hint of cloves. Chewy, dark and dense Plummy and grapey, with many layers of fruit. Nicely tight. |
